Get set to welcome Santa Claus to Dover Thursday

Dover’s Capital Holiday Celebration will be in three places this year with lots of different activities for the family.

Several events will be taking place simultaneously, Thursday, Nov. 30.

Here is the schedule:

5 - 7 p.m. -- Children’s Craft Area in the Dover Public Library and musical entertainment near City Hall.

5 - 8 p.m. -- Entertainment at the Loockerman Way Plaza, a visit with Santa, food trucks with a number of specialties available; the Living Nativity scene will be at Wesley Church.

5:15 and 5:45 p.m. -- Nutcracker ballet dance performances at the Reading Circle outside the Dover Public Library.

6 - 6:45 p.m. - Tree lighting ceremony in front of Dover City Hall with caroling by school children and local celebrities. Santa will arrive after the tree lighting.

7 - 8 p.m. -- Musical performances at the Duncan Center at the west end of Loockerman Street

Hot chocolate and cookies will be available near City Hall, by Santa’s House and at the Duncan Center.

There will be live broadcasts on WBOC-TV, Channel 16 and WRDX, Tom 92.9-FM.
