Delaware Technical Community College had five athletes from fall sports receive All-Region honors from the National Junior College Athletic Association Region XIX.
From the cross-country team, freshmen Sean Saxton and Dyce Bailey and sophomore Katelyn Jensen were named All-Region based on their individual efforts at the 2017 NJCAA Region XIX Cross Country Championship meet. Saxton finished the men’s 8K race in second place with a time of 28:22, while Bailey finished fourth in a time of 29:46. Jensen finished the women’s 5K race in seventh place with a time of 22:45.
Saxton, of Dover, is a graduate of Dover High School and a human services major. Bailey, of Dover, is a graduate of Polytech High School and an occupational therapy major. Jensen, of Selbyville, is a graduate of Indian River High School and a nursing major.
From the volleyball team, sophomores Hayley Hudson and MaryBeth O’Hanlon earned All-Region honors because of their play in the 2017 NJCAA Region XIX Women’s Volleyball Tournament. Hudson and O’Hanlon led Delaware Tech to a runner-up finish in the tournament and a berth in the district tournament.
Hudson, of Newark, is an Appoquinimink High School graduate and nursing major. O’Hanlon, of Clayton, is a visual communications major and Aquinas Academy High School graduate.
