Police are seeking two suspects.
Delaware State Police are investigating the attempted robbery of a gas station in the Forgotten Mile area of Dewey Beach.
The preliminary investigation has determined that the incident occurred on Friday, Nov. 24, 2017 at about 7 p.m., when two masked males entered the Valero gas station at 20880 Coastal Highway simultaneously, through two separate public entrances.
One suspect proceeded directly toward the counter. displaying a sharp instrument. Upon realizing the clerk was in the rear of the store, the suspect moved in that direction, but the clerk was able to retreat to a storage closet. Both suspects then exited the store. The clerk was uninjured.
Suspect one was described as black male between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build, He was wearing dark clothing, light-colored shoes, a white mask, a round fisherman-style hat and light-colored gloves.
Suspect two was described as a large-framed male of an unknown race with dreaded hair. He was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, pants and shoes, light-colored gloves and a white mask.
