Heroin, cash seized
The Delaware State Police Sussex County Governor's Task Force arrested four suspects in connection with illegal drug activity at a residence in Dagsboro on Tuesday.
The initial investigation began on Oct. 31, 2017, after police received numerous complaints regarding drug activity and distribution at a residence in the 30000 block of Iron Branch Road in Diamond Acres. Several people were arrested at that time for drug dealing and weapons charges after 31 bags (0.217 grams) of heroin, 2.36 grams of cocaine, a .22 caliber rifle and ammunition were seized.
On Tuesday, Nov. 21, police again responded to the same residence after receiving reports of drug activity continuing at the property. Upon arrival, officers contacted several individuals, including 34-year-old Hasan Oney of Millsboro, 21-year-old Edward Thomas of Millsboro, 26-year-old Keion Sturgis of Dagsboro and 45-year-old Lynnell Drummond of Dagsboro. A subsequent consent search resulted in the seizure of 390 bags (2.73 grams) of heroin and over $3,000 in suspected drug proceeds.
Oney was charged with drug dealing, bribing a witness and possession of drug paraphernalia and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $65,250 cash bond. Thomas was charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and providing a false statement to police and released on $2,500 unsecured bond. Sturgis was charged with maintaining a drug property and possession of drug paraphernalia and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $3,250 cash bond. Drummond was charged with maintaining a drug property and released on $3,000 unsecured bond.
