Philadelphia Youth Orchestra musicians will launch their 2017-18 performance season under the baton of Maestro Louis Scaglione at 3 p.m. Nov. 19 in Verizon Hall at The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, 300 S. Broad St, Philadelphia.

One hundred-thirty musicians ages 14 to 21 will perform and be recorded for an airing at a later date on WRTI-FM.

The orchestra will open the program with Bernstein’s “Overture to Candide,” with Debussy’s “La Mer” afterward, and will conclude with Tchaikovsky’s “Fourth Symphony.”
