The assailants only were described as four young black men

Dover police are investigating a weekend assault and robbery.

The victim said the incident took place at around 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18 in the area of Martin Luther King Boulevard near River Road, department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said.

The man said four young black men came up to him and one pointed what appeared to be a handgun while demanding he empty his pockets. The victim refused and walked across the street, after which he was shot several times with a BB gun. The four juveniles tackled him to the ground and beat him, then took his cell phone and ran away.
