The Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony in conjunction with Kent County Tourism, in partnership with Chesapeake Utilities, to unveil a new mobile visitor center, called The Villager.

The Villager is tied to the “Delaware’s Quaint Villages” branding initiative that debuted last year. The center will travel to different towns and cities that will provide a service to those areas and be able to engage with the locals and visitors as to what Kent County has to offer.

The center’s overall goal is to have greater economic impact on the county by increasing the number of visitors to local attractions as well as restaurant, hotels and retail businesses. The Villager was converted to run on compressed natural gas, which makes it an environmental friendly vehicle.
