The Dover Century Club will hold a collection event for Stockings for Soldiers from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 18 at their Clubhouse, 40 The Green, Dover.

The club is partnering with Stockings for Soldiers Inc. Delaware, a nonprofit organization that for the past 13 years has been sending personalized stockings filled with goods to military men and women.

Donations, including black or white crew socks, small individually packaged meals, candy, cookies, beef jerky, ramen noodle soup, razors, and toiletries, are needed. Items should be small enough to fit into a holiday stocking or inside a 2-gallon zip-close bag. Aerosol cans or bars of soap will not be accepted. For a complete list of items, visit facebook.com/stockingsforsoldiersdelaware or stockingsforsoldiers.org.

The public can drop off holiday greeting cards with messages of support and friendship for the troops. Messages may include a return address or email, with the possibility of receiving a response. Donations and cards will be delivered to Stockings for Soldiers Inc. Delaware in Wilmington, where they will be stuffed in stockings and mailed to troops.
