One man punched the gun owner while the other man stole the weapon

Dover police are working to recover a handgun stolen during a minor vehicle crash.

Department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said the incident took place at about 1:20 a.m. Friday, Oct. 27 in the parking lot of the Allure Night Club at 865 N. Dupont Highway.

A man and woman involved in a fender bender were trading insurance information when two men came up to the passenger side of the man’s car. One of the men punched the victim in the face while the other took the weapon, which has been on the passenger seat. The two then fled in an SUV.

The victim was the legal owner of the handgun, Hoffman said.

The first suspect is a black man between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall weighing between 230 and 240 pounds, with short hair and gold teeth.

The second man is about 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 7 inches tall, skinny, wearing dreadlocks.
