The Dorchester County Historical Society will host the annual Artifact Exhibit from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 4 at the East New Market Volunteer Fire Department, 4020 E. New Market Bypass, East New Market, Maryland.
The display will include more than 60 tables and relics of local specimens. In addition to arrowheads, stone tools and beadwork, fossils and contact pieces will be shown.
Along with viewing, visitors can learn the history of the people and times. For those who wish to have artifacts identified, experts will be on hand to do so. Flint knapper Phillip Goldsborough will demonstrate the techniques. A silent auction will be held with unique items. Native American vendors will also be on hand. Food and beverage will be sold by Two Chicks food truck.
Admission is $2 per person ages 12 and older. Proceeds benefit the work of the Dorchester County Historical Society. The South Dorchester Folk Museum also is a sponsor.
