Delaware State Police are investigating the robbery of a 28-year old male that occurred as his vehicle was disabled along a Sussex County roadway.

The incident occurred on Monday, Oct. 23, at around 11 p. m., when a 28-year-old Willards, Maryland man stopped along Roxana Road after his vehicle became disabled. Two male subjects stopped and acted as if they were going to provide the victim with assistance, but after returning to their own vehicle, one of them retrieved a handgun. The victim was then ordered to get down on the ground at gunpoint and struck in the head with the handgun.

The suspects removed a wallet and jewelry from the victim and an undisclosed amount of cash from his vehicle before fleeing south on Roxana Road in an unknown make and model vehicle. The victim sustained a minor injury to his head and refused medical treatment at the scene.

The suspect with the handgun was described as a white male between 25-30 years of age, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall and 190 to 200 pounds. He was wearing a light-colored shirt and gray sweatpants. No description was provided on the second suspect or the vehicle in which they fled.
