The Delaware Technical Community College Terry Campus will unveil a permanently displayed POW/MIA Chair of Honor during a ceremony at 9 a.m. Nov. 6 outside the main entrance of the Terry Building on campus, 100 Campus Drive, Dover.

With the dedication, the campus will join the Rolling Thunder Inc. POW/MIA Chair of Honor Program, which is intended to bring daily reminders of prisoners of war or missing in action issues. The chair, which is black with the POW/MIA logo on it, is to remain perpetually empty to help people remember that even though the soldiers are not here, there is a space for them.

Hussey Seating donated the chair, and the cost of installation and accompanying signage is being covered by Les Link, a recently retired Delaware Tech employee and Vietnam veteran.

Link initiated the discussion on having a chair installed on campus.

The dedication ceremony will include brief remarks, a three-volley salute by current service members stationed at Dover Air Force Base and the unveiling of the POW/MIA Chair of Honor.
