Delaware State Police said they believe this is an isolated incident with no safety concerns for the community.

The Delaware State Police are conducting a death investigation after two people were found dead at their home in the Town of Kenton.

Around 11 a.m. today, Thursday, Oct. 19, a relative went to a residence in the unit block of Cooper Street to check on his elderly in-laws and bring them breakfast.

Upon entering the locked house with a key, the relative discovered the husband and wife in the bedroom with apparent gunshot wounds, said State Police Master Cpl. Gary Fournier.

The relative then called 9-1-1.

Both the man and woman were pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is in its early stages, and more information will be released when it is received.

This is an isolated incident and there are no safety concerns for the community, Fournier said.
