Police are asking the public’s help in finding a woman and a male accomplice involved in credit card fraud in Dover and Smyrna.

Smyrna Police Department spokesman Cpl. Brian M. Donner said on Oct. 4 the woman came into the Smyrna branch of the Dover Federal Credit Union and persuaded a teller to override a denied cash advance on a credit card. The woman provided a Nevada identification that gave her name as Stella McCain.

The card later was found to have been stolen, Donner said.

Two days earlier the same woman, this time with a male companion, conducted a similar fraudulent transaction in Dover.

Anyone with information on either of these crimes or who think they may have encountered these individuals is asked to contact Smyrna Det. Eric Cooper by calling 302-653-9217.

Information also may be provided by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333, via the Internet at delawarecrimstoppersweb.com.
