The Dover/Kent County Metropolitan Planning Organization Council will hold a meeting at 2 p.m. Oct. 18 in the King Meeting Room of Camden Town Hall, 1783 Friends Way.

At the meeting, council members are scheduled to vote to go into an executive session for the discussion of personnel matters — the hire of a new MPO executive director. The executive session is closed to the public in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act. After the executive session, council members are scheduled to reconvene the public meeting.

At a September special MPO council meeting, the council met and went into executive session regarding personnel matters in accordance with FOIA. Later, after reopening the public meeting, council members unanimously voted to accept a hiring committee's choice for a new executive director. The council, however, held off naming the candidate until a formal job offer was extended and accepted. The upcoming special session will include the council's vote to finalize the hire.

The council is scheduled to hold a regular meeting at 3 p.m. on Nov. 1. Anyone with further inquiries may call 387-6026 or 387-6030.
