The injured man was taken to Bayhealth Hospital

Delaware State Police are probing an early morning shooting south of Dover.

Delaware State Police spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Fournier said the incident took place at about 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11 in the 100 block of Presidents Drive.

The area, in the Capitol Park development, is outside the Dover city limits.

So far, police have learned a man was shot by an unknown person; the victim was taken to Bayhealth Hospital-Kent Campus by emergency medical personnel.

There is no information yet as to his identity or his condition.

The investigation still is in the early stages and detectives are continuing efforts to interview people in the area and collect evidence.

Additional information will be released as it becomes available, Fournier said.
