Ice pick possibly used in motel holdup

A robber who may have been wielding an ice pick escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash following a weekend holdup.

Delaware State Police spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Fournier said the incident took place at about 3 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7 at the Best Western Galaxy Inn at 1700 East Lebanon Road, near Dover AFB.

Fournier said the man came in armed with an unknown object, possibly an ice pick, demanded the money and ran off after receiving the cash.

The suspect is a black man about 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall; he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and mask covering his face. There is no video surveillance footage available, Fournier said.
