Josť Sosof was arrested after he was seen riding his bike at night without a light.

A man police say was riding his bicycle without lights was arrested on drug charges over the weekend.

Milford Police Department spokesman Sgt. Robert Masten identified the man as 38-year-old José Sosof.

A Milford patrol officers spotted Sosof on the bicycle at about 8:18 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8; officers stopped the cyclist after he pulled out in front of an approaching vehicle, Master said.

However, as officers went up to Sosof, they spotted him pulling items from his pockets and throwing them to the ground. The officer recovered the items, which were suspected of containing crack cocaine.

Sosof is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, ride a bicycle on sidewalk or crosswalk where prohibited, and not having a lamp on his bicycle while riding it at night.

He later was released on a $500 unsecured bond.
