Wesley College Professor of Business Management Kathleen Jacobs attended the ninth annual Kent County Economic Summit Conference at Delaware Technical Community College on Sept. 19.

The purpose of the summit is to advance the common goal of improving the economic life in Kent County. The conference is presented in collaboration with the Central Delaware Business and Entrepreneurship Consortium.

Jacobs attended “The New Era of Marketing” breakout session, which included a panel of executives from corporations such as Comcast and iHeartRadio. Topics included trends to help businesses get their name out into the public arena.

Gov. John Carney was featured as the keynote speaker. His presentation emphasized how businesses can grow, form partnerships between the private and public sectors. He also spoke on the importance of technology in the advancement of business and how many businesses are truly technology companies disguised as businesses.
