UPDATE 4: (1:56 p.m.) Delaware State Police have resolved a standoff with a man who barricaded himself inside a home near Lincoln. Delaware State Police spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Fournier said the 66-year-old man was taken into custody at 1:25 p.m. after he came out of the house. The man, whose name has not been released, was taken to an area hospital for evaluation. Detectives are continuing their probe into the incident and Fournier said charges against the man may be forthcoming. Johnson Road, between Route 113 and North Old State Road remains closed, he added. UPDATE 3: (11:59 a.m.) State police still are working to resolve the situation. There is no additional progress according to DSP spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Fournier. UPDATE 2: (9:29 a.m.) Delaware State Police remain on the scene of a barricaded man in a home near Lincoln. They are continuing to try to get him to surrender. UPDATE 1: (7:54 am) Police remain on the scene and Special Operations Response Teams and Conflict Management Teams are trying to make contact with the man and are continuing to attempt to persuade him to surrender. ORIGINAL STORY Delaware State Police are operating in the 18000 block of Johnson Road, Lincoln, for a report of a possibly armed barricaded person in a home. Delaware State Police spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Fournier said the incident began at about 1:03 a.m. Wednesday, October 4 when troopers were called to the home to check on the welfare of an unstable man alone in the house. Troopers continue to assess the situation with no further details available at this time. Several homes in the area of the incident have been evacuated as a precaution. Johnson Road is closed between DuPont Boulevard and North Old State Road. Drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes of travel.
