Dover police have arrested 76-year-old Roce Barlow of Dover in connection with the weekend holdup of a clerk at a Royal Farms convenience store.

Dover Police Department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said Barlow allegedly walked into the store at 5:01 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, displayed a handgun and demanded cash. The clerk turned over an amount of money and Barlow ran off, getting into a black Toyota Camry to make his escape.

He was described as wearing a ball cap, dark shirt, plaid pajama bottoms, and slippers.

The car was driven by an unidentified woman, Hoffman added.

Barlow was identified by detectives after a review of surveillance recordings and picked up after police were called to investigate a downtown loitering complaint.

He has been committed to the Vaughn Correctional Center, Smyrna, on a single charge of first-degree robbery, and is being held on a $10,000 secured bond.

Police are continuing their investigation to determine the identity of the woman driver, Hoffman added.
