Delaware State Police have arrested a Hartly man following an armed robbery in New Castle.
In a press release, Delaware State Police spokesman Master Cpl. Michael Auslin said the incident took place at about 3:17 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28 as the victim was sitting in a car in the parking lot of the Crown Motel at 152 N. Dupont Highway.
Police learned Desirie Henry, 32, of New Castle went up to the car followed by the Hartly man, identified as 25-year-old Robert A. Wilson. Wilson allegedly held a gun to the man’s head and demanded his money. The victim turned over his cash and a cell phone, after which Henry and Wilson ran off toward the Airport Plaza shopping center.
The victim, who was not hurt, flagged down a probation officer who was in the area; the officer contacted state police who spotted the pair and took them into custody.
A search turned up the victim’s property along with a black pellet gun that resembled a semi-automatic handgun, Auslin said.
Wilson and Henry both are charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree conspiracy.
He is being held at the Young Correctional Center in lieu of a $62,100 secured bail while Henry is being held at the Baylor Women's Correctional Institution in lieu of a $27,500 secured bail.
