The Heart of the Chesapeake Country Heritage Area will sponsor a workshop from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 5 at Heritage Museums and Gardens of Dorchester, 1003 Greenway Drive, Cambridge, Maryland.
The workshop will benefit small museums in the area and teach participants how to create an exhibit from the beginning through the opening at no cost to the organization.
Beth Hansen, local museum professional with more than 20 years of museum experience, will lead participants through the workshop. Beginning with the idea phase, attendees will learn how to choose an engaging topic that can be interpreted well.
Hansen will address how to create a new exhibit or improve a current one. The cost factor for producing these exhibits will be compared so that small museums can see how to get the most out of their money.
