Dover residents Cameron Norwood and Natasha Morris were arrested Thursday, allowing law enforcement officers to seize 13,000 bags of heroin and a loaded 9mm handgun.
Delaware State Police spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Fournier said the pair were taken into custody Sept. 21 at the Best Western Motel located at 1700 East Lebanon Road.
Fournier said officers from the United States Marshals Task Force, Dover Police Department, and Delaware State Police were looking for Norwood for violating his probation. A computer check also showed Morris was wanted on a bench warrant out of the Sussex County Court of Common Pleas.
A warrant to search the hotel room was obtained as well as a 2000 Saturn Aura Norwood is known to operate, allowing officers to seize the gun and drugs.
Norwood and Morris both are charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a controlled substance (heroin), possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance (heroin), two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited, second-degree conspiracy and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A judge at Justice of the Peace Court 2 ordered them held on a $170,000 cash bond.
