The Delaware River and Bay Authority will host a fundraiser involving the Delaware Memorial Bridge — a 5K race to benefit Special Olympics Delaware — at 7 a.m. Oct. 1.
This event is open to active or retired first responders ages 18 and older who fall into the law enforcement, fire, emergency medical services/medical and military personnel categories.
The race will begin on the New Jersey side and will end on the Delaware side near Memorial Park.
The race will help to raise resources and aid the Special Olympics Delaware mission to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in 19 Olympic-type sports for 4,200 children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
