The Delaware State Police is releasing surveillance photos of the suspect and possible vehicle involved in the robbery of a south Dover store.

The incident occurred at about 5:49 p.m., Sept. 4 when a man went into the Dollar General store at 250 Gateway South Boulevard, division spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Fournier said.

The man paid for a pack of cigarettes at the counter, but when the register was opened, he reached across and grabbed money from the till. The store clerk tried to stop him, but he grabbed her arm and took more cash with his other hand.

The suspect ran from the store; the clerk, Fournier said, was not hurt.

The suspect is a white man between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall with short black hair and a goatee. He last was seen wearing black shorts, a white T-shirt and black baseball cap and sunglasses. No weapon was seen.

The man may have been driving a small dark-colored SUV, Fournier said.
