AARP Advocacy Director Sheila Grant and AARP volunteers PJ McGill and Walt Waite presented a copy of the new AARP publication “Where We Live” to Dover Mayor Christiansen, who was featured in the book for his work to end Veteran’s homelessness.

Christiansen was the first Delaware mayor to join the Mayors Challenge to End Veteran Homelessness, an initiative of the state of Delaware and various public and private organizations. When the Dover group began its work, there was an estimated 100 veterans living on the city’s streets. By the end of 2016, all had permanent housing.
