Large amount of heroin seized

The Delaware State Police Sussex County Drug Unit arrested multiple people following an investigation into the sale of illegal narcotics in the Lincoln area.

Detectives assigned to the unit, along with the assistance of the Sussex County Governor’s Task Force, Troop 7 Pro-Active Criminal Enforcement (P.A.C.E.) team, State Police Special Operations Response Team (S.O.R.T.), Delaware Department of Correction and Milford Police Department conducted search warrants in the 19000 block of Crabapple Lane and the 8000 block of Greentop Road around 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 5. Numerous individuals were contacted and taken into custody, and the searches yielded a total of 3043 bags of heroin (21.3 grams), 28.24 grams of cocaine, 11 Suboxone strips, over $9,500 in suspected drug proceeds and a .22 caliber rifle.

The following suspects were charged as a result of the investigation:

Darus E. Young, 42, of Millsboro: possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to deliver, possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, second-degree conspiracy, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia. Committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $130,000 cash bond. Antonio J. Belfield, 33, of Lincoln: possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to deliver, possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, second-degree conspiracy, tampering with evidence, possession of drug paraphernalia. Committed to SCI on $130,000 cash bond. William Snyder, 39, of Lincoln: two counts of possession firearm by a person prohibited, maintaining a drug property, possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia. Committed to SCI on $24,000 secured bond. McKayla Snyder-Shirey, 19, of Lincoln: maintaining a drug property and possession of marijuana. Released on $2,500 unsecured bond.

Robert L. Fanning, 47, of Milford: resisting arrest. Andre A. Mifflin, 44, of Lincoln: possession of heroin and resisting arrest. William G. Rafter, 48, of Lincoln: possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia. Nathaniel L. Colon, 23, of Lincoln: carrying a concealed dangerous instrument and possession of drug paraphernalia. John S. Meredith, 48, of Milford: possession of drug paraphernalia. Tony Kiser, 46, of Milford: possession of drug paraphernalia.  Caitlynn H. Scott, 20, of Milton: criminal impersonation.

Six additional subjects were contacted by troopers that were found to be wanted on outstanding capiases.
