Regional Bicycle Plan updates, a downtown Dover parking study and the continued search for a new director are on the September meeting agenda for the Dover/Kent County Metropolitan Planning Organization's Council, set for 3 p.m. Sept. 13 in the council chambers of Camden Town Hall, 1783 Friends Way.

Council members are scheduled to vote on an updated version of the MPO's Regional Bicycle Plan. The original plan was published in 2011, and work to update the plan began about a year ago. Other action items include a change to the MPO's fiscal 2018-21 Transportation Improvement Program and a letter of concurrence about DelDOT's use of Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality program funds. The TIP amendment is due to DART's purchase of two buses in fiscal 2018.

MPO staff also is set to discuss an ongoing parking study for downtown Dover. MPO, city staff and consultants held a public workshop regarding the plan Aug. 24. The council will continue discussion about the MPO's search for a new executive director and could determine if it needs to hold a special meeting and executive session in October regarding this personnel matter. Other discussion items include amendments to the Delmarva Freight Plan and updates to the MPO's bylaws.

The MPO Council meeting is open to the public
