All four persons were extremely intoxicated, police say.
Milford police have arrested four people following a fight at a local motel.
Department spokesman Det. Timothy Maloney said the incident took place at about 11:49 p.m. Friday, Sept. 1 at the Traveler’s Inn at 1036 N. Walnut St.
Police had been called to the motel to investigate a report of a disorderly person but arrived to find people arguing and fighting in front of a second-floor room.
The officers separated the individuals and detained the three who had been fighting, Maloney said.
As they were doing so, a 16-year-old adolescent started to fight with the officers but still was taken into custody. It was determined all three were extremely intoxicated, Maloney said.
The adults are identified as Dwayne Richardson, 51 of Dover and Depaul Smith, 36 of Milford; the 16-year old was not identified due to his age.
While the fight was going on, police also encountered 20-year-old Dover resident Nakysia Williams, who officers determined was caring for a small child while she was intoxicated. She also was taken into custody, Maloney said.
Richardson is charged with offensive touching and disorderly conduct, while Smith is charged with offensive touching, disorderly conduct, and providing alcohol to an underage person. Richardson was released on a $500 unsecured bail while Smith was released on a $750 unsecured bail and ordered not to contact the 16-year-old.
Williams is charged with endangering the welfare of a child, underage possession/consumption of alcohol, and breach of release, the latter for violating a no-contact order between her and Smith. She was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution, Georgetown, on a $551 secured bail.
The 16-year-old is charged with resisting arrest, offensive touching, disorderly conduct, and underage possession/consumption of alcohol; he was released to his parents.
