The teen was robbed by four others

Troopers with the Delaware State Police are investigating a nighttime robbery in a local shopping center.

Delaware State Police spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Fournier said the holdup occurred around 9:57 .m. Saturday, Aug. 16 in the 1600 block of South Governors Avenue in the parking lot of the Rodney Village Shopping Center.

The adolescent victim was in the parking lot when he was approached by a teenage boy; while walking three more teenage boys came up to them and began assaulting him, Fournier said. They stole the victim’s cell phone, belt and a necklace before all four ran away toward the Rodney Village development.

The teen refused medical attention at the scene, Fournier said.

Three of the suspects were described as black males between 14 and 18 years of age and between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall. The fourth was a black male between 11 and 13 years old who stood about 5 feet to 5 feet 3 inches tall.

Fournier said the victim could not provide an additional description of clothing or physical appearance. No weapons were seen, he said.
