Police have arrested a 24-year-old Timothy Cannon.
The Delaware State Police have made an arrest in connection with an attempted armed robbery in West Rehoboth.
A preliminary investigation began when troopers were called to Norwood Street on Friday, August 25, at around 12:30 a.m., for a report of an attempted robbery involving a knife. The 24-year-old male victim, of New Castle, advised that he had been sitting in his vehicle when he was approached by a male subject. The subject displayed a box cutter-type knife and demanded money from the victim, who drove off without handing over anything. The victim provided police with a description of the suspect, and someone fitting that description was found on Norwood Street and arrested without incident.
The suspect, 37-year-old Timothy Cannon, of Rehoboth Beach, was positively identified by the victim and charged with first-degree attempted robbery, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $31,250 secured bond.
