William Dorey IV was arrested Aug. 4
A Milford Food Lion employee has been arrested after he allegedly used a debit card stolen from a customer.
William Dorey IV, 18, of Milford, was taken into custody Aug. 4, Milford PD spokesman Det. Timothy Maloney said in a department press release.
The case began July 24 when a woman said she had lost her wallet at the store located at 951 N. Dupont Highway. She went back the following day and found the wallet had been turned in but her debit card was missing.
A check showed someone had used the card, Maloney said, and surveillance camera footage showed that individual was Dorey, who had bought a gift card.
Dorey surrendered to police after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
He is charged with one count of theft under $1500 where a victim is 62 years of age or older. Dorey later was released on $500 unsecured bail and was issued a no contact order with the victim.
