Sofiani Adams, of Dover, recently published her first novel, “Anna,” and will hold book signings from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 29 at Seaford District Library, 600 N. Market St. Extended, and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 2 at Rehoboth Beach Public Library, 226 Rehoboth Ave.

“Anna” is a story of an immigrant woman who experiences mental and physical abuse from her husband.

While the novel is fiction, “we all aware the problems many women go through in this world from abusive spouses or partners,” Adams said. “I hope my story will help many people, especially women, to have faith and ask for help when they need it, and know there is a light at the end of that tunnel. My story is fiction, but some parts are based on my childhood experience and a true event.”
