Delaware State Police are investigating the mugging of a pedestrian while he was walking along the highway in Camden.

Delaware State Police spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Fournier said the man was robbed at about 2 a.m. Wednesday, July 12 as he was walking on the southbound shoulder of U.S. Route 13, south of Voshells Mill Star Hill Road.

The man told police he was approached from behind and struck on the back of the head with an unknown object. The man fell to the ground, after which the robber removed his wallet, took out an undisclosed amount of cash, and ran away.

The victim was slightly hurt and treated at an area hospital, Fournier said.

The only description available was that the robber was wearing a white T-shirt, he said.
