Dover Police Department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman identified the man as Denzel Braker, 21.

Dover police have arrested a local man after finding he was carrying a handgun in the Manchester Square neighborhood.

Dover Police Department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said Street Crimes Unit and Delaware Probation and Parole officers were in the area and spotted 21-year-old Denzel Braker sitting in the passenger side of a vehicle.

Because it was past his mandatory curfew time, the officers contacted Braker and discovered a 9mm handgun in his waistband.

Braker was arrested without incident and is charged with two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited, carrying a concealed deadly weapon and violating his probation.

He has been committed to the Vaughn Correctional Center on a $35,000 secured bond.
