Morris James announced personal injury partner Francis “Pete” J. Jones Jr. is the 2017 recipient of the Justice Franchini Golden Gavel Award, which recognizes individuals who have demonstrated dedication and commitment to the goals and ideals of the National High School Mock Trial Program.
M. Jane Brady, Delaware Superior Court judge, presented the award to Jones on this past May 13 in Hartford, Connecticut.
Jones has been involved in the Delaware mock trial program since its inception in 1993. In the Delaware program he has served as a coach, judge and as the program director for more than 10 years. In 2008, Delaware hosted the national competition in Delaware. Jones was one of the organizers of that program and helped in bringing the national competition to Delaware. Jones has been on the board of directors of the National High School Mock Trial Competition for more than 20 years, having served on every committee and was at one time serving as chair of the organization.
Jones has more than 30 years of experience litigating plaintiffs’ personal injury matters. He has participated in a number of cases that have developed new law.
