Officers with the Dover Police Department have arrested a man on assault charges following a stabbing at 3:19 a.m. Sunday, March 19, in the 1200 block of Harrison Drive, Dover Police Department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said.

Officers reported Daeshawn Shouman, 21, had gotten into an argument with a 26-year-old man when the disagreement turned physical. The men started fighting on the sidewalk and road, with Shouman pulling a pocket knife and stabbing the victim three times in the back. Shouman is charged with second-degree assault and possession of a deadly weapon during commission of a felony.

He later was released on a $45,000 bond.
