The Schwartz Center for the Arts, 226 State St., Dover, will celebrate the season with Mardi Gras Mayhem featuring music by the popular Cajun band Zydeco-A-Go-Go, food from Cajun Queen and the debut of the Capitol Lounge at 7 p.m. Feb. 18.
Founded in 1992, Zydeco-A-Go-Go includes the zydeco sound of accordion and frattoir augmented by saxophone, electric guitar, electric bass and drums. Cajun two-steps blend with Creole zydeco and New Orleans rhythm and blues. Their performances feature lyrics sung in English, Spanish, Cajun and Creole French.
In addition to the Schwartz Center’s standard lineup of concession snacks, special guest Cajun Queens Cuisine will offer Cajun/Creole cuisine. The Schwartz Center features an assortment of nonalcoholic and alcoholic beverages. The specialty drink for this show is the hurricane.
Tickets are $25 adults and $20 ages older than 65 and military.
As an added benefit to ticket holders the night of the show, the Schwartz Center will debut its Capitol Lounge the night of the show. From 6 to 7 p.m., patrons can enjoy a complimentary specialty drink and lite fare with full bar available.
A limited number of $10 tickets to the Capitol Lounge will be offered for sale beginning at 5:30 p.m. the day of the show. For those unable to experience the Capitol Lounge, the doors open at 6 p.m. with full concessions available.
