The 56-year-old driver was taken to a local hospital.
The driver of a Ford Explorer was sent to a Dover hospital Wednesday night after he crashed into a Felton school.
The building, which houses the Lake Forest School District’s Central Elementary School, was unoccupied at the time, Delaware State Police spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Fournier said.
The crash took place at about 6:24 p.m. Jan. 18; the school is at 5424 Killens Pond Road, Felton.
The Ford was traveling eastbound when it went off the north side of the road, traveled across the grass and into the front office area of the school.
The driver, a 56-year-old man from Dover, was wearing his seatbelt, Fournier said. He was taken by emergency medical personnel to Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Charges have not been filed, and the crash remains under investigation.
