Delaware State Police are investigating a shooting that sent one victim to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A preliminary investigation has determined the incident happened sometime between 7 and 11 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 16, after dispatchers in the Kent County Emergency Operations Center received a call from an area hospital in reference to a 32-year-old victim that arrived with a gunshot wound to his lower torso. The shooting incident was reported to have occurred in the area of Unity Lane, northeast of Greenwood.

The victim contacted a relative who transported him to the hospital, where he was treated and for the non-life-threatening injury.

The investigation into this incident is on-going and no suspect information could be provided.
