Jeremy Hunt is charged with second-degree burglary and criminal mischief
A Dover man, suspected of having burglarized a local home, was caught by police after he tried to escape on a bicycle.
Jeremy Hunt, 28, was taken into custody at Bank Lane, Dover Police Department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said.
The burglary occurred at about 9:51 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17 at a home in the first block of North Governors Avenue, Hoffman said. The suspect, identified as Hunt, took several items but fled on the bike after a run-in with the homeowner. Police spotted Hunt at South Queen and Reed streets, and was followed until stopped at Bank Lane, he said.
Hunt is charged with second-degree burglary, theft of property under $1,000 and resisting arrest.
Bond information was not immediately available.
