High school juniors and seniors are invited to solve crimes using forensic science at Delaware State University's Forensic Botany Day on Feb. 11.
There will be two sessions: 10 a.m. to noon and 1-3 p.m. Lunch will be provided for all participants from noon to 1 p.m.
The event is sponsored by DSU's College of Agricultural and Related Sciences. Students will use plant material evidence to solve six different crimes utilizing DNA sequencing, gas chromatography/mass spectrometry and a scanning electron microscope.
The program is free, but requires preregistration by contacting Sandy Jacobsen at 302-857-6415. Students must register by Feb. 7.
