DART's Stuff the Bus Thanksgiving Food Drive was at the Dover ACME Nov. 10, where local groups, schools, individuals, and companies stopped by to drop off non-perishables for the Food Bank of Delaware.
Drew McCaskey, marketing manager, said last year the campaign brought in 9.6 tons of donations, which was their second-best intake. “There are so many people who have used the food bank in the past who want to give back,” he said.
Below is a list of other ways to give, and help for those who need it.
Nov. 11 through Nov. 17
The Lake Forest High School Student Council is sponsoring the 1st Battle of the Belly this week. All Lake Forest schools are competing to see who can raise the most pounds of canned and non-perishable food this week (South had a food drive last week, so they will not participate.) All of the food will be donated to the food pantry in Harrington. The class in each school who collects the most food will get a prize, and the school collecting the most food will earn a trophy.
