Area IHOP restaurants will offer a free short stack of pancakes to customers for 15 straight hours on Feb. 28.

For the event, running from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. for what a release refers to as National Pancake Day, area IHOP restaurants will accept donations from patrons on behalf of the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center.

The release claimed that IHOP restaurants gave away 4 million pancakes last year while raising $2.5 million for children’s charities. This year, IHOP hopes to raise more than $2.7 million dollars.

The nearest participating IHOP is located at 21 S. Little Creek Road in Dover. There are also participating restaurants in Bear, Seaford, New Castle and Newark.
