With just an acoustic guitar in-hand, the talented duo of A.J. Swearingen and Jonathan Beedle will perform the classic hits of “Simon & Garfunkel” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at the Smyrna Opera House.

This has been one of the most eagerly anticipated concerts of the fall performance season, according to Opera House Executive Director David Keller.

“While listening to the recordings of A.J. and Jonathan you would swear you were listening to the voices of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel,” said Keller. “Their voices blend extremely well and hearing their tight vocal harmonies and single acoustic guitar will be a real treat within the confines of the intimate Opera House auditorium. I’m really looking forward to this concert!”

About A.J. Swearingen and Jonathan Beedle

A.J. Swearingen and Jonathan Beedle have been performing this remarkable tribute to the music of Simon & Garfunkel for more than a decade. A chance meeting in 1991 in a local club in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, brought these two talented artists together. A brief introduction and moments later they were blending their voices as if they had been performing together for a lifetime. A.J.’s warm baritone and Jonathan’s soaring tenor combine flawlessly to capture the essence and magic of Simon & Garfunkel’s sound of the early years in Greenwich Village.
With a quiet stage and an acoustic guitar, A.J. and Jonathan re-create the memories of the classic hits along with some more obscure songs that many members of the audience will be hearing for the first time.
