Make Monday night movie night
Fans of avant-garde and independent films — the ones that usually don’t make it to the mainstream theater — can catch edgier and quirkier movies at the Kent County Public Library at 7 p.m. the first Monday of every month.
July’s film is “Frost/Nixon,” directed by Ron Howard. The movie focuses on the 1977 interviews between journalist David Frost and former president Richard Nixon. Once the interview began, fans and critics were stunned by Frost’s hard-hitting questions and Nixon’s frank responses. The movie dips into the behind-the-scenes action as well, showing the arduous task of getting the interview to TV.
The movie is rated R and runs 1:22.
Guest speaker Grover Johnson, historian, will provide viewers with a historical perspective to events related to the film.
Admission is free.
Guests must pre-register because programs take place after the library is closed.
The library is at 2319 S. DuPont Highway, Dover.
