Festival of Trees starts with Night of Lights
The annual Delaware Hospice Festival of Trees starts with an opening night celebration from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24. The Night of Lights is the first chance for the public to see and purchase the 55 to 60 decorated trees and wreaths to benefit Delaware Hospice. The cocktail party also features a silent auction. Two new art exhibits debut
Art lovers will have more to enjoy when opening receptions introduce new exhibits at local venues.
The public is welcome to the opening reception for the15th annual Smyrna Opera House Art Show at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20. Guests will have a month to see the work of local and regional artists before the show closes Friday, Dec. 18. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. The Delaware Agricultural Museum & Village also is hosting work of regional artists with the Working Artists Forum’s exhibit. The forum is a group of painters from Maryland’s Eastern Shore working in one or more medium. They showed at the Ag Museum last year, and will again bring their work to the museum this week through Jan. 18. An opening reception will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21. Admission during the reception is free.
