Delaware State Police are investigating a break-in and beating that took place in a Magnolia home.

The incident took place at approximately 6:25 p.m. Sept. 2 at a home in the 100 block of Bay Hill Lane, said police spokesman Master Cpl. Bruce W. Harris.

The first victim, 20-year-old Dover man, told police he had gone to the home to pick up some personal items when two other men attacked him. The suspects punched and choked the victim and robbed him of his wallet and cell phone.

The second victim, 21, from Magnolia, was similarly assaulted when he came in, Harris said. Following the attacks, the suspects went outside, confronting an 18-year-old Dover woman sitting in a car, where they tried but failed to take her purse. They then ran away.

None of the victims needed medical treatment, Harris said.

All three victims came together to the home, and the first victim is thought to be a friend of the homeowner.

Police also are trying to determine why the suspects were in the house and how they got inside, Harris said.

The first suspect was described only as a very tall black man wearing a white T-shirt.

The second suspect was described as a white man wearing a beard.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Delaware State Police at Troop 3, Woodside, at 697-4554. Callers may remain anonymous. Tips may also be forwarded to law enforcement through tip lines maintained by Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333 or online at www.tipsubmit.com.
