Why are you running for state representative, and what are the issues you feel are important?
For years, Delaware has been run like Washington, D.C. We need to take our country back for our children and grandchildren. I have the experience and commitment needed to guide the 33rd Representative District into the future. Washington does not provide jobs, but they do produce high taxes. Debt destroys jobs. Let’s run Delaware like we run our homes. When you run out of money, you stop spending. I am endorsed by state Sen. Colin Bonini, by state Rep. Dave Wilson, by the Kent County 33rd District and by the Republican Party. The issues that I support are: no more bailouts, no more Obama health care insurance plan, no more bills with 2,700 pages, no more budgets that are not balanced, and no more spending of our children’s and grandchildren’s future. Maybe we cannot  pray in our schools, but we can pray for our schools. I am a conservative Christian. One thing that people fear is the “government” and what it will do. I have the time and energy it takes to serve you, the citizens of Kent and Sussex counties with hard work and integrity. The time it takes to protect our values, our tax dollars, free enterprise, and our quality of life is worth every minute of each day. That is why we all need to work together to do the best for everyone that lives in Delaware. Let’s get our government here in Delaware back.

Why are you running for state representative, and what are the issues you feel are important?
I am running because I am frustrated with the current field of legislators whom neglect the will of the Delawareans they serve. I find myself in a good personal position to be able to run and I want to start a movement in Dover in which elected officials serve, not reign.

I believe I am the candidate for the 33rd District with the absence of political ties, and the fortitude to go to Dover and say no to unbalanced budgets, increased personal and business taxes, as well as irresponsible spending.

I am the candidate who can work with other elected officials and create employment opportunities. I am also the candidate who has made a career of public service and I understand that representative means more than a political office.

I have said all along that if I do not meet the expectations of my constituents, they should vote me out of office in two years. I encourage all voters to talk to my family, friends, and co-workers to get their opinion of the type of person I am as well as the type of service they can expect from me. Get educated and then vote for the person whom you think can win the seat from the Democrats and then best serve the residents of the 33rd District. That person is Steve Rust.
